Workshop Levels
Workshop levels are based on skill (and competition) levels as they do everywhere. You will be automatically assigned to a level, based on your WSDC number, but…
We know competitions ain’t everything 😉 , so if you don’t like competing, but want to participate in a class that represents your skill level, we have 2 more options for you:
– auditions
– have your local teachers contact us and vouch for your level before August 10th
Below you can find the workshop levels we provide:
Level 2
(recommended for competition level Newcomer/Novice without points)
You know the basics of West Coast Swing, but you still don’t feel confident when social dancing. In addition to improve your basics, you want to learn the West Coast Swing fundamentals and be able to dance with any partner.
Entry requirements:
– none
Level 3
(recommended for competition level Novice)
You feel confident with your basics regardless of dance partner or music. You can social dance to any type of music at any tempo. Expressions like “phrase change”, “rolling count” and “pitch” are not new for you.
Entry requirements: (one of the following)
– min 1 Novice point
– audition
– we trust your teachers (let them contact us)
Level 4
(recommended for competition level Intermediate)
You have solid technique, good understanding of musicality and connection. You are ready to find your own style and explore advanced concepts.
Entry requirements: (one of the following)
– min 10 Novice point
– audition
– we trust your teachers (let them contact us)
Level 5
(recommended for competition level Advanced)
Your technique, connection and musicality are already on the highest level. You’re now looking to refine your skills as a dancer and a competitor. You are ready to work on complex concepts in a fast paced environment.
Entry requirements: (one of the following)
– min 25 Intermediate point
– audition
– we trust your teachers (let them contact us)
